Franchise Solutions

Franchising means cooperative success. In its simplest terminology franchising is a system of collaboration between two independent enterprises in which the originator (the Franchisor) gives the Licensee (the Franchisee) the right to use or to exploit a commercial format or product usually personalised with a strong trademark. The Franchisor also provides the Franchisee with assistance and regular services to help with their commercial operations. This system has its strength in the responsible management of the Franchisee. With his own investment in the operation he has greater interest in the successful results of the venture than may a direct employee. From the franchisor's point of view this strength of management integrity eliminates the costly and ever less efficient management hierarchy of a direct control expansion programme.

Financially, the Franchisor reduces the managerial and operational cost of a multi-outlet operation. The Franchisor is, therefore, enabled to improve the research and development element of the business together with the ultimate corporate marketing scheme giving a far more rapid national awareness of product, service or brand. By directing his energies towards this ultimate retail success without the traditional hindrances of the middle ground, the benefit to both the Franchisee and the Franchisor can be seen. The franchise system enables the Franchisor to have a far greater number of outlet operations without heavy investment in headquarters’ staffing.
